FAMU Fires Clemon Johnson

Tallahassee Democrat

Florida A&M recently told Clemon Johnson he would be placed on administrative leave with until July 29, then, his four-year contract will be terminated. Reported by the Tallahassee Democrat.

It was also reported that Johnson reached out to St. Clair Murraine, a Tallahassee Democrat sports writer to bare the news.

Johnson, a former FAMU standout who sustained a 10-year career in NBA, most notably with the Philadelphia 76ers, has not obtained a winning season in his three years with the Rattlers.

Johnson's termination follows FAMU's hire of their new President, Elmira Mangum, PhD., and Athletic Director, Kellen Winslow.

Despite a 14-18 finish last season, Johnson's best year, he was unable to keep his job.
